Today we showed off our games at lunch. I'm glad that I spent my last 2 hours last night creating a 2nd player instead of a score system or going to bed. Thanks to Brian's DIY arcade controllers people enjoyed the multiplayer experience :D Lesson Learned* Be careful when picking a screen resolution of your game. Our screen projector has a max resolution of 1024x768. That's something I noticed from our round 1's demo. This time I did add a mechanism to toggle the fullscreen mode. However, the aspect ratio of your game can be a problem (4:3 v.s. 16:9).* Cut-scene not noticeable on the projected screen. Like regular cut-scenes, I added 2 black areas to cover part of the top and bottom of the game. People failed to notice that and they started pressing buttons (thanks goodness I disabled user-input during cut-scene). Perhaps no one was expecting any cut-scene at all (or people just wanna skip them XDDD). P.S. one can skip the cut-scene by pressing Start but no one noticed that :P Things To Be Improved* A score system would be nice.P1 killed X dinos P2 killed Y dinos N dinos were harmed in the making of this game XDDDD * Instruction I keep forgetting to add in-game instruction to tell player the controls. Ty did a good job on that. The most asked question during the demo: "So what are the keys?" * Customizable input/gamepad configuration |
